Welcome to Crown Posada, a historic pub in Stockton-on-Tees that stands as a testament to time and tradition. Originally rebuilt in 1880 by architect W.L. Newcombe for local brewer John Sanderson, it has evolved into a unique haven.

Legend has it that a Spanish sea captain bought the pub for his mistress, giving rise to the name Crown Posada. Since 1901, the Sir John Fitzgerald family has carefully preserved its legacy, making thoughtful refurbishments while maintaining authenticity.

Notable features include Pre-Raphaelite stained glass windows, a distinctive blue stone exterior, and a 1941 turntable record player. The pub encourages patrons to bring their vinyl LPs, creating a nostalgic blend of past and present.

Step inside to discover a long, narrow interior with a high ornate molded ceiling and a delightful snug at the front left-hand side. The bar fittings, mostly original, exude vintage charm, complemented by modern touches like mirrors and stained panels.

The pub’s last major change in the early 1950s introduced new toilets and a seating area extension. Throughout its rich history, Crown Posada has retained its charm, offering an unforgettable pub experience where tradition and community converge.
